It’s ok to quit.

My whole life I’ve thought that quitting was a bad thing. 

I thought it was a sign of weakness to give up on something. Throwing in the towel was not something I ever wanted to do

Until the second time I was fired.

Being fired for a second time taught me a valuable lesson.

Sometimes the brave thing to do is to know the situation isn’t right. And make the change. 

That it is ok to quit, when quitting will actually move you forward towards your goals.

I was miserable in that job. And should have quit sooner.

But I didn’t.

I stuck it out, even though I knew 100% in my heart (and my head!) that it was the wrong place for me.

Using my ‘never quit’ framework, I would have stayed in that job for a lot longer. Sure, it might have a got a little bit better. 

But fundamentally I was not aligned to the values of the company.

My boss did me a massive favour by firing me. 

8 months later, I was working for Apple.

If you know its not right, it’s ok to steer your ship in a new direction.

Don't be afraid to make the hard calls for yourself (instead of waiting for someone to make them for you, like I did!)
