Thankfully we are living in the world of AI. And while I’m not convinced AI is as good as a human when it comes to writing resumes and cover letters, I do think it has a place in our job hunt. 

Here are three simple ways AI can transform your job hunt:

Interview Prep

Let’s be honest, interviews can be nerve-wracking. But practice makes a big difference. Why not ask Chat GPT for some help.

Share the job description with ChatGPT. Ask it to generate 10 competency-based questions and 10 technical questions tailored to the role. 

Now you’ve got a set of relevant questions to practice with, find someone who will play the role of interviewer and get practicing.

BONUS: Don’t have a friend to help you? Download the voice version and ask ChatGPT to “interview” you. Get ready for an authentic-sounding mock interview, and start answering those questions out loud! It's like practicing with a real person.

Perfecting Your Resume 

We’ve all been there: staring at a job description and wondering, “How do I even begin?” 

Here’s where AI steps in to make things smoother:

First, write your resume in your own words. Once you have your resume drafted, share the job description with ChatGPT and ask it to review your resume for you.

Ask it the tough questions:

“What’s missing?

“How can I improve my resume?”

“Do you think this application is strong enough?”

"Are all the key words there?"

ChatGPT will give you feedback and suggestions, helping you refine your resume until it’s pitch-perfect.

Drop the job description into ChatGPT. 

Ask it, “Where could I work after this role?”

AI can’t do the actual work for you, but it can definitely be an awesome assistant. Think of it as helping you scale yourself as opposed to something that is replacing you. 

Remember, it’s important to stay authentic in your applications - it's too obvious when Chat GPT has written a Cover Letter or re-written a resume with 1000 key words in it. 

Make sure you keep your personality in there. People hire people, not computers. So use AI as an assistant and you will see great results!
